Yahya Sinwar has fled to Egypt – according to the Saudi website Elaph, one of the Arab media outlets that often publish insights from Palestinian groups.
According to the publication, a security official confirmed: Israeli services have information indicating that Hamas leaders, including Yahya Sinwar, his sister and brother Mohammed and others, were recently able to escape through tunnels between Palestinian Rafah and Egyptian territory.
Israelis have expressed concern that Palestinian leaders could flee to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula with the kidnapped prisoners.
The official noted that over the years, Israel has monitored eight large tunnels that can accommodate cars and even small trucks. The military leadership believes that ISIS used these tunnels to transport Iranian weapons, launch vehicles and technology, as well as to send its members through Sinai to study in Iran and Lebanon.
According to available information, the Israeli army is investigating how journalist Ismail Abu Amr, who was injured in a recent Israeli explosion, escaped and, as announced, is being treated in Qatar.
