Mohamad Ali El Husseini — OPEN LETTER

   Reading time - 6

O Hassan Nasrallah.. Know so you don’t have to tell me if I knew!

Lebanese Shiite cleric Mohamad Ali El Husseini, who lives in the Persian Gulf and holds the post of Secretary General of the Islamic Council in Lebanon, published an open letter to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in the Saudi newspaper Okaz.

His Eminence Mr. Hassan Nasrallah, we know for sure that our letter will reach you and you will read it.

In fact, we hesitated a lot in writing this letter, knowing its dimensions and fearing that it would be interpreted for something other than its purpose, so we turned to the good, as it is the right thing to do.

We know how much you are informed and follow what is going on, this is your main concern of course.

But let us remind you that the vast majority of leaders throughout history have had weaknesses that led to losses, defeats and even disasters for their peoples and destruction of their nations due to two reasons:

1- Arrogance and absolute confidence that leads to recklessness.

2- Not taking advice because they thought they were above advice and more knowledgeable and understanding than the adviser.

The truth is that we care about our people and our dear country Lebanon, so we have to give you advice, as it is our duty and an argument against you, especially pointing out things we hope you will consider.

First of all, you should know that Israel after October 7 is no longer the same as it was before that date, with all that you know about it. Therefore, you cannot rely on previous experiences such as the wars of 1993, 1996 or 2006. Israel today is fighting under the slogan of a war of existence and the restoration of deterrence.

Therefore, for the first time in the history of Israel’s wars, so many people have been killed and wounded, and the war has lasted for more than ten months, and these situations are exceptional, and cannot rely on reading the past to predict the future at all.

For more than 10 months, the villages and towns of the south have been exposed to daily destruction, martyrs, burning crops, and displacement, without any horizon or benefit for Lebanon and its citizens, and if all Lebanese were asked, they would unanimously say: “Stop, we don’t want a war: “Stop, we don’t want a war in which we have no stake, no interest, and no benefit.”

Your Eminence, for the sake of history, you know that time is running out, and this is your own business, but what concerns us is our people and Lebanon, so we will tell you in all transparency, honesty and credibility.

This is not a threat, but an advice and awareness of what will happen in terms of military reactions and the destruction that will be inflicted on Lebanon and its people without any deterrent.

Know that Israel will use unconventional weapons, and God is a witness to what I am saying, and know that the war will not stop at Lebanon, but will extend to Damascus, which will fall just as Beirut fell in 1982.

The suffering of our people and the tragedy will be unprecedented this time, as there will be no place for people to shelter, no aid will be provided, and no supply route because there is no airport, port, or land route with Syria, and the siege will be long and very harsh, in addition to the movement of “sleepers””, and there are many of them.

Israel is a nuclear state, and the whole West will be with it when it clashes with you in Lebanon.

Therefore, do not be deceived by any international guarantees that Israeli anger will be limited or restricted, and that it will not attack all of Lebanon, and all Lebanese will pay a high price, especially the Shiites, as the projects that will be prepared for this country in the future after the war will return the Shiites to the depths of isolation and marginalization.

I sincerely swear that a war on Lebanon is just around the corner, and only you can stop it and save our country from destruction and citizens from perishing, by making a courageous and historic decision to stop military operations immediately, declare it openly, and let the Lebanese army assume full responsibility at the border.

Otherwise, you will bear full responsibility for whatever the Israeli army does in Lebanon, and you will be responsible for the destruction of Lebanon and all the blood that will be shed.

Reason and law require us not to throw ourselves into destruction, and your religious responsibility is very great to not only throw yourself, but not to throw a people and an entire country.

This is my advice to you, and this is my argument against you.

O God, I have reported, so bear witness.
