Anti-Semitism in U.S. Universities ‘fueled’ by Arab money. Investigation by ‘Details’

Arab donors quietly invested in American universities, establishing centers and departments to propagate their own views. The Arab lobby succeeded in taking over the field of Middle Eastern studies, and now it has professors across the United States using these departments to promote political agendas—typically pro-Arab (often specifically linked to Palestinians), anti-Israel, and uncritical of radical Islam.

Often, the purpose of gifts to American universities is to improve the image of Arab states. Saudi Arabia, for example, wanted Americans to forget that 15 out of the 19 hijackers involved in the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center towers in New York and other targets in the U.S. were Saudis. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sought to establish connections with prestigious universities, including to mitigate the negative fallout from his alleged role in the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Financial relationships with institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard allowed Mohammed bin Salman to appear as a ‘progressive leader leaning towards the West.’

The Network Contamination Research Institute (NCRI), a non-profit research center, released a report stating:

From 2015 to 2020, institutions that received funds from Middle Eastern donors experienced an average of 300% more anti-Semitic incidents compared to those institutions that did not accept these donations.

  • More than 200 American colleges and universities, in violation of the law, concealed information about undisclosed foreign regime donations totaling approximately 13 billion dollars.
  • In institutions accepting undisclosed funds, campaigns against resident scholars occur on average 85% more frequently “aimed at sanctions, censorship, demotion, or their suspension or cessation of research.” Students noted hearing more anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist rhetoric on these campuses, where a higher level of anti-Semitic incidents was observed.
