The IDF discovered a recording showing members of the Bibas family at the beginning of the war. The family said the video was discovered in a tunnel or shelter in recent days. The Bibas family only found out about him this morning. They stressed that this explains how they managed to survive and reach Gaza.
“It is clear how they managed to reach Gaza alive. Hamas is fully responsible for the safety of Shiri, Ariel and Kfir.” The Bibas family’s response to the documentary: “These videos break our hearts. To see Shiri, Jordan, Ariel and Kfir kidnapped from their home in Nir Oz in this hell is unbearable and inhumane. Kidnapping children is a crime against humanity and a crime of war. Ariel and Kfir are victims of a monstrous evil. Our whole family became hostages together with all the kidnapped”.
On October 7, Shiri and her sons, nicknamed “red” for their bright fiery hair, were abducted from Kibbutz Nir Oz during a secret Hamas attack in southern Israel. A few days later, a heartbreaking video appeared showing terrorists taking a terrified family from their home. The image of a distraught Shiri clutching her young sons to her chest quickly became a symbol of Israel’s suffering at the beginning of the war with Hamas. Kfir, the youngest hostage captured by Hamas during a brutal terrorist attack that claimed the lives of nearly 1,200 Israelis, was part of this family of four. They were hiding in their secure room when Hamas arrived at the picturesque kibbutz. “They are coming,” Bibas wrote to his family shortly before they were captured.
“We are afraid and very concerned about the situation of Shiri and the children,” Brigadier General Daniel Hagari added: “We will not rest or calm down until we get them home. I have spoken to the family, I would like to respect the family’s wishes for privacy in the coming hours.”
Prime Minister Netanyahu: “The video in which we see the Bibas family in Gaza tugs at our heartstrings and reminds us who we are dealing with – the brutal kidnappers of children. We will bill them.”
Shiri Bibas and her sons are being held by the Mujahideen Brigades, a radical organization that split off from the militant wing of Fatah.
It is a relatively small organization of religious fanatics that has claimed responsibility for shooting attacks in Samaria in the past and, according to SHABAK, has also planned kidnappings for ransom.
It’s been 136 days since the kidnapping…
